Choosing a reader

Choosing a reader

When you know nobody and would rather not ask anyone, the choice feels impossible. It is less so than it looks: a few bearings are enough.

1. The stated speciality

A tarot reader and an astrologer do different work. The second prepares the calculation before the session and usually hands you a written document.

If you want a reading of your situation, go to the cards. If you want a portrait in depth, go to astrology.

2. The language

This is the specifically Swiss point. English readers are concentrated in Zurich, Geneva, Zug and Basel. Outside those cities, the offer thins out.

In a session, nuance is the whole point — which is why a video appointment with someone who works in your language beats a nearby reader with whom the exchange stays approximate.

3. The fee AND the duration

Two sessions at CHF 150 are not the same thing if one runs thirty minutes and the other an hour and a quarter. That gap is rarely stated unprompted.

Ask for both on the first call. Nobody takes offence.

What Chana would add: someone who answers your practical questions willingly before the session even starts — fee, duration, how it unfolds — already tells you a great deal about how they work.

What is not a criterion

Distance, first: video has become the norm, and for astrology the calculation is prepared beforehand anyway.

Then advertised experience. Fifteen years of practice says nothing about the quality of the exchange you will have.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know if a reader suits me?

Call before booking. Someone who answers willingly about fee, duration and how the session unfolds already tells you how they work.

Does distance matter?

Less than you might think. Video has become the norm, and for astrology the calculation is prepared beforehand.

Should I prefer someone experienced?

Advertised experience says nothing about the quality of the exchange you will have. Speciality and language are far more useful bearings.
